Lifes a beach.
Ah half term you evil mistress. How we all go into you with such hope and glory. Then realise after a few days that children need A LOT of attention and need to be stimulated constantly. There isn't enough play doh or ipads in the world to entertain those little minds. I've just spent the last week on the east coast at my mum and dads and it was lovely. The beach has got to be far and away the best entertainment in the world and its free. Never a bad thing. Children have an amazing ability to play with sand and water all day and its pretty chill for the parents too. The sound of the waves, the sand between our toes and the giggles from your children. Such bliss. Throw a few ice creams into the mix and you have pretty much the near perfect day. It doesn't even bother me when I find sand in my sons nappy and cannot for the life of me figure out how it got there. If sand isn't up your bum crack though then were you ever really at the beach? I think not. It's the sign of a good day. A healthy day. A day where you all got dressed, actually made it out of the house and didn't spend all day watching cbeebies. It's a day that should be celebrated, you should be celebrated and your children should be celebrated. You got out. You did it. You should be proud of yourself. Saying that though I will be spending tomorrow, the last day before school sitting on a sofa watching as many children's movies as I can convince them to watch. We did well. We got out six yes six days this half term. I think it must be a personal best if i'm honest but tomorrow...tomorrow we chill. Mondays coming soon and the school run will resume and I just need one day, one day to stay in that blissful post beach daze. Oh you dirty little beach...you get me every time.
